Squareyes in Galway is set to play host to a Starcraft 2 tournament (8-9 October 2010). Registration has opened and will close on October 4th. In order to register, interested players must complete a registration form and pay the €20 registration fee via PayPal or at the venue. The player (Columc / Toxick / Vanyd) behind the event has a range of experience with a number of fun tournaments, leagues and LANs under his belt.

You must also agree to the Rules and Regulations by stating in the email “I <NAME> agree to the following rules and regulations to the Starcraft 2 Tournament”. After an extended hiatus, the Midlans crew is pleased to announce a 2010 edition of the LAN. Midlans 2010 (20-22 August 2010) will take place at the Streete Community Centre in County Westmeath. There are 400 player spaces available with a weekend of fun, games and tournaments promised. The event will cost €30 to attend although those who are interested in attending specifically for the Street Fighter tournament are entitled to a discount and will pay €20. A number of tournaments are to be run with more to be unveiled in the run-up to the LAN. Games to be played over the course of the weekend are not limited to the tournament games and will include titles such as Battlefield, Unreal Tournament, Supreme Commander 2 and Quake 3 Arena among many others. JuneLAN, to be hosted at The Netcafé in Longford, has been confirmed. The LAN will kick off at 20:00 GMT on June 5th and conclude at 16:00 GMT on June 7th. It has been suggested that this could be the last LAN hosted at The Netcafé which looks to be closing in a matter of weeks. Cherryghost has stated that he would like to "go out with a bang". Ireland's EVO 2010 Qualifier featuring Super Street Fighter IV is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 29th 2010. The Xtreme Gaming Centre (Liffey Street, Dublin) has been confirmed as the venue after unforeseen circumstances forced a move away from Gamesnash Live. Entry to the tournament costs €20 with the winner earning a trip to Las Vegas to participate in EVO 2010.

The newly launched Streetfighter.ie is pleased to announce a competition with a little bit of diversity. The 'Day of Champions' will feature four fighting games and all in the name of charity. The Day of Champions will take place on May 22nd and each tournament will kick off at 14:00 GMT. Participants are advised to arrive early to register their interest and warm up beforehand. Attendance will cost €5 for console rental with each tournament costing €1 to enter. Proceeds will go to charity but there is a special €20 prize to anyone that can place top three in three tournaments. The University of Ulster Magee will play host to Encore 24 on April 10th and 11th. The event runs from 09:00-22:00 GMT each day with a variety of activities planned. As usual, there will be latest release and classic console games, anime, warhammer and card gaming. The tournaments have been confirmed and are outlined below. Price: £5 / 9am-10pm on either day, £2 / 6pm-10pm on either day. OFFER: £7 for both days! Super Smash Brothers Brawl: All Items No Foxes Rainbow Road. Top 1 from 4 groups goes into final fight, then top 2 into 1v1.

The Dragonslayers Ranking Battle 3.6 session will feature Tekken 6 as the competitive game. The Queens University Belfast Students Union will host this session once again. As per usual, a £1 tournament fee is charged with the proceeds being donated to Child's Play Charity at the end of the season. Casual games will be played from 17:30 GMT with the tournament getting underway at 19:00 GMT. It is all to play for in the Street Fighter 4 Ranking Battles as part of the Dragonslayers season. The final session will take place next month and just eight points seperate the top four players. Newtype has pushed into the lead followed by Cobelcog after a first and second place finish respectively at the 3.6 session. Encore 4 has been announced with the promise of 24 hours of gaming, anime and tournaments. The University of Ulster Magee, Derry is the host of the event. Encore opens it's doors on April 10th at midday until midday on April 11th. The 24 hour event is open to over-18s only and ID is required. However, the event has a staggered price structure based on the duration that an attendee may be at the event for. The full 24 hours costs £10, between 12-10p.m. costs £5 and from 6-10 costs just £2. With the European release of BlazBlue approaching, Vyze has launched a tournament interest check to see if players are interested in playing the game shortly after the official release. Currently, it is expected that such a session would take place in Belfast. An online tournament is also suggested as an option which would place less emphasis on entry fees and prizes. The 3.6 session of the Dragonslayers Season has been announced. Street Fighter 4 willl be the competitive fixture with the tournament kicking off at 13:00 GMT (March 13th 2010). Casual matches will run from 12:00 GMT. Entry for the Street Fighter 4 competition is £1 with the proceeds going to Childs Play Charity. The tournament will feature a group stage followed by an eight player double elimination, best of three, bracket.
