Stickrunners Season 4 Complete PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sabre0001
Monday, 09 November 2009 13:25

Quake 3 is still alive as Season 4 of the Stickrunners Capture The Flag league proved. Division 1 was the exception to this point as Ragin claimed the title without playing a game. Thankfully, the other divisions made up for that inactivity. In Division 3, DX! were the stand out team and went unbeaten over the course of the league. Noone could come near them an illustrated by the fact that they shut out teams on five maps. With eight wins from eight matchups and a Capture Difference of +68, they clearly deserve the Division 3 title. grex and Team Enigmatic fought tooth and nail for second and third but grex pipped it in the end. One point was the difference in the end as they were evenly matched throughout the season.

Division 2 could have gone to any team, with the exception of d303 who took the position of the whipping team of the Division. Just four points seperated the top five teams at the end of the season but Prost came out on top. In the end, it was decided on a head-to-head record as Prost and ds tied for points. The margin couldn't have been closer as Prost took that match 3:2, 3:2. K2 were awarded 3rd position while machina settled fmr 4th despite finishing on equal points. Magic took 5th just one more point behind while d3o3 were left trailing after an underwhelming season.

The Stickrunners team has noted that December 2nd is Quake 3's 10th Anniversary and is planning a celebration. A 2v2 Capture The Flag tournament will be held that evening and signups will be open soon. More information will be posted as it is made available.

Stickrunners Season 4 Revamped PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sabre0001
Monday, 05 October 2009 14:49

The start of the Stickrunners Quake 3 Capture The Flag league has been pushed back until Sunday 11th October as the Divisions have been overhauled. The team stated that it was clear that some signed up teams were not in the correct division and that the best course of action was to redo the divisions. There will also now be three divisions made up of five teams in each.

The fixtures are also to be reviewed and will be posted shortly. Division 3 teams are advised to keep an eye on the fixtures page from week to week as "dynamic times" are to be used. This means that there will not be a "standard" time for Division 3 matches to take place and it may change from week to week. Click "Read More" for the new look divisions.

ASUS Quake 3 Online Qualifier Concludes PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sabre0001
Sunday, 17 May 2009 17:27

The ASUS Quake 3 Online Qualifier, in which participants had the chance to win free tickets to ASUS Open Spring 2009 along with ASUS hardware prizes, has come to a close. 64 competitors entered the best-of-one double elimination bracket and the early phases passed without any major surprise. The final made up for this though. cypher was originally knocked into the lower bracket by Cooller but overcame lucifer, K1llmaster in order to enter a rematch against Cooller. Cypher took this to enter the grand final against RazerJ.

Cypher won the first set 2-0 (pt4 25-29, hub 15-39) and looked like he could finish the job. RazerJ rallied in the second set of matches and emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. Cypher ragequit at the end with the statement that "it won't be like this on LAN". The LAN final could prove to be intriguing with the post match statements still hanging in the air along with Cypher's claim (in an interview with SK-Gaming) that Jibo would never be #1 still at the front of peoples' minds.

A quiet cul-de-sac in South Dublin was the place to be for Irish Quake 3 players last Saturday, as Dardoz played host to a number of the top Quake 3 players in Ireland.  Despite a couple of notable absentees, such as the reigning Quick Cup champion, Vinnit, the all-rounder bch, and the veteran melachi, this was most significant Quake 3 turnout in the country in several years.

The highlight of the LAN was the official 1v1 tournament.
